that the president's well- spoken words are not enough. republican bob mcdonnell is saying that white house policies are burdening states. >> the biggest thing i hear is from the small business people saying that the tax and policies are oppressive and punitive and it makes it harder to create jobs. we have the lowest number of new start up businesses in america in 30 years based on this president's policy. so, that's the most disturbing actor. >> the governor was in charlotte, north carolina, when i spoke with him yesterday. he was there as part of a group called president barack obama is not working. that put republicans in place to respond to speeches from the democratic national convention. an investigation is underway in a police shooting. it happened last night at county road and foster street in maryland, that is just across the washington, d.c. border. the man who was shot just been arrested.
he asuspected of stealing a motorcycle. he was hit in the back, but will recover. the officer has been place on administrative leave. in an 84-year-old woman beaten, robbed and left on the floor of her apartment for 24 hours until a neighbor heard her cries for help. it happened last february in maryland. now police have arrested the 55- year-old. it turns out the victim bit her attacker on the hand. police are saying dna tests from the blood led them to their suspect. prince georges county police shutdown a club that was the scene of a recent assault. officers locked up the hall. in this case, the hall's use and occupancy permit had expired. the shutdown was authorized under the 2011 dance hall bill that has closed a dozen clubs. it is 5:05 now your money

morning. there is a patch of fog in the southern state. way down south. ors with mainly clear, 60s and 70s to start. sunrise is at 6:43. a pretty good looking friday. there is a 20% chance of an afternoon storm. sunny and 86 by noon. 88 at 3:00 and 90 to 91 will be the high for the day. the winds south at 5 to 10 miles per hour. this morning a couple of storms in pennsylvania. this activity has been weakening over the last couple of hours after a quiet morning out there and a lot better than yesterday. a dry commute in. mid to upper 60s across prince george's county. now, even -- down there, it is 67 degrees. outside on the weather cam. this is washington, d.c., we're
looking out to the west- southwest this morning. nice and quiet. no clouds out there, 72 degrees at national with the dew point in the upper 60s. that is a little bit better than yesterday morning. the current humidity is 87%. cool stuff in the northern plains and rockies. the temperatures are in the 30s. and 40s this morning. i point that out, the cooler air will be moving east and southeast. the storm system is a big one in canada. behind ia cold front, which is producing the showers coming out of south dakota, in towards iowa and wisconsin. with the cool air north of that boundary, that boundary is coming. it will be coming here late tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow evening. out ahead of it, the air is rather warm, a little unstable in spots. today is not bad. really, good, with sunshine. just a spotty afternoon storm is going to pop, that's it. most of us i will not be bothered by anything today. but the low 90s.
it is warm for september. tomorrow morning we start fine and maybe a few clouds here and there, but the rains will have a slower time coming in and showers developing off of the atlantic here by midday. then in the afternoon, a spotty shower and storm here through 5:00. out west, we will watch the front that will be arriving in the evening hours and then coming through us with the cool air and moving behind it. that's going to change everything on the summer pattern into a fall pattern for a few days. 91 this afternoon. borderline yellow. the yellow is for anyone that may get the afternoon. tonight in the 60s and 70s. tomorrow, 87. afternoon evening thunderstorms. sunday is looking great. breezy and cooler. 79 degrees. look at the seven-day forecast. we is low 60s for washington. that means 50s in the suburbs and bay tuesday back to 81. 5:15. here is mun5:15.

>> the nats got in punches with their runs last night. we breakdown the brawls. >> reporter: good morning, everyone. the fireworks were flying last night at nationals park. it was not just the long balls. this time punches were being thrown. the cubs frustration boiling over into two benches clearing brawls. this was the situation before this happened. nats up by 3 runs in the 4th. zimmerman at the dish. he knock as single to left. the nats just keep adding on the runs. in the next inning, cubs bench coach and the nats third base coach get into a verbal argument. porter heads over to the cubs dugout. standing on top of the sketches. that leads to the first benches clearing brawl. both bullpens come over. that was not the end of it.
next, harper leading off in the 6th. it is thrown way inside and thrown at harper. the cubs catcher does not move to get the ball. that leads to another brawl. in the end, the nats get it. name--- 9-2. davey addressed the fight. >> i think it was the bench coaches frustration, you know, getting it handed to him for a couple of days. if they want to quit competing and forfeit,

the president. joe biden used his ring side seat over the last four years why he thinks myrnot the best man for the job. he did it talking about mitt romney's views on two key issues. what he would have done when it came to capturing bin laden and saving the auto industry? >> i think that he saw it the bain way. i think he saw it in terms of balance sheets and write-offs. folks, the bain way, may bring your firm the highest profits. but it is not the qua to lead our country from the highest office. >> he was asked about bin laden in 2007, here's what he said -- he said it's not worth moving had heaven and earth and spending billions of dollars just to catch one person. if you understood that america's heart had to be healed, you would have done exactly what the president did.

well, a scandal for football powerhouse. the "washington post" is reporting five football teaches were thrown off of the team. according to the parents, the players hired prostitutes in virginia last weekend. the washington, d.c. department of health is reporting the city's first death from west nail virus this summer. the victim was an elderly man. a second resident is suffering from the virus and he is hospitalized. the federal government is saying nationwide there is a sharp increase in the number of cases this year. more rain could mean trouble for parts of ocean city in maryland. inspectors have condemned a restaurant where heavy rains caused a roof to collapse. firefighters had to help stranded driver who were stuck in flash flood warning and investigators are blaming a couple of house fires on lightning strikes. just about 5:35 and time
